Title Sequence Inspiration

Beach Huts on Southend Seafront that I photographed using a Digital SLR. This is a particular inspiration for the title sequence I intend to produce for my final motion graphics piece. The contrasting, clashing colours help to create a clashing, surreal image. As I intend to convey the idea of imagination through the title sequence surreal images are neccessary in order to emphasise this abstract idea. The clashing use of colour on the huts helps to gain a sense of individuality of each structure as well as giving an almost unrealistic view of the image, it almost looks 'too good to be true'.

The setting is also particularly suitable. As the title sequence aims to explore a child's imagination, the beach setting helps to rekindle a stereotypical childhood memory of playing on a beach. The bright, colourful beach huts are also considered to be the 'stand out' object' when recollecting these type of memories.

Character 2 Final Design

Final Design for Character 2, using the same principles as below in order to create the ripped paper technique. I intent to convey different personalities and attitudes through the design of each character. This has been achieved through the shape of the character's body and the size of their eyes. Larger eyes connote a more childish apperance whilst smaller eyes help to convey authority and wisdom.

Character 1 Final Design

Final Design for Character 1. I have included a ripped paper outline in order to give viewers the impression that the character has come alive straight from the page. The ripped paper was created in photoshop in order to replicate the 'fibre' effect when looking at ripped paper under a magnifying glass.

Design created in illustrator using my original sketches as a reference. I originally intended to create a custom brush with my own sketch lines, however the final quality of the image was too low resolution
