Ink Drip

Ink Drip from AMG Blog - MMalone on Vimeo.

This animation explores the idea of 3D space within after effects, and using layers created within Photoshop, helps to create a realistic ink drip. The ink drip itself is formed using masking and a motion blur applied in order to create a sense of speed. In order to create the sudden appearance of the ink splatter the scale is adjusted over a small number of frames.
This particular type of animation is influential for my final year project, more specifically the opening title sequence. I plan to animate hand drawn animations, formed from a single drop of ink across a page. In time the illustrations develop and become more complex, finally forming the setting of the film.
